Across every language, every tradition, every corner of the world, breath is the one practice we all share.
Breath is the only autonomic function of the body you can consciously control.
When you slow down your exhale, your body gets a signal. It shifts out of fight or flight into rest. You're not forcing that shift.
You're just showing your body it's safe, and it takes it from there.
In yoga breath control is called Pranayama, which represents the practice of expanding the vital energy of the body through various techniques, each with their own unique effect.
Breath is at the center of everything I teach. In yoga class, we move breath to movement. In intuitive movement, this means flowing with your body's own natural breath rhythm, not forcing it into someone else's count. Your breath already knows the pace. We're just learning to follow it.
Alongside movement, I also teach breathing practices on their own, ways to calm the nervous system, build energy, or simply come back to the present moment. Some days that's all a body needs
